Member Mortgage Assistance Program (MMAP)
Star One Credit Union's MMAP is available to members that are having difficulties with their Star One mortgage payments and want to avoid foreclosure. We may be able to provide temporary assistance that will help keep you in your home.
We may be able to help you by reviewing different loan modification options, which may include:
- Deferring your monthly principal and interest payment
- Modifying your interest rate, or
- Modifying your monthly payment
Before we can explore available options, we will need information on your current financial situation. Likewise, applying for assistance does not guarantee approval.
Examples of the information we typically require are as follows:
- A letter describing your hardship. The letter should describe the circumstances that caused your income to be reduced (job loss, illness, divorce, etc.)*
- A completed Request for MMAP and Acknowledgement & Agreement form.
- Proof of income for all borrowers (e.g., pay stubs or income tax return or retirement or social security benefits statement, pension, disability insurance).
- Current bank statements.
- Proof that you completed a telephone financial fitness program with our debt counseling company, Balance.
The time to render a decision will be approximately 30 days from the time we receive all the required documentation.
